An Exceptional Project in an Outstanding Landscape

A specialist of urban planning and landscape architecture, Charles Franzman’s career spans almost 50 years. During this time he has completed almost 200 large-scale, prestigious projects all over the world and in virtually every state of the USA, developing his expertise in areas such as golf clubs, residential condominiums, commercial, tourism and hotel properties, offices and large, multi-purpose real estate complexes. More than twenty prizes awarded to projects delivered by his enterprise, Franzman, Davis & Associates, are testimony to the prestige, precision and originality that characterise his work.

Just to list a few examples:

Golf and residential tourism resort, French Riviera, 263 hectares

Golf and residential tourism resort, Madeira, 305 meters above sea level

Golf and second-home residential resort, Fountain Valley, St. Croix, Virgin Islands, 1,821 ha.

Golf resort with beaches and marina, Great Harbour Cay, Berry Islands, 809 ha.

Resort in Lucaya, Grand Bahama Island, 60,704 ha. with several golf courses, marina, beaches, shopping centers, airport, hotels, casino and residential properties

Country club and residential properties in Alto Crespo, St Cristobal, Venezuela, 202 ha.

“I first visited the site of what is now Golden Eagle in 1989 and was immediately struck by its untouched natural beauty.

Having designed a great number of residential communities in different parts of the world, I’ve learned to let the land tell me how it should best be used, instead of me imposing some pre-conceived idea of what should happen on it.

Golden Eagle has been planned in such a way as to convey the typical pastoral feeling of the Portuguese countryside, far from the hustle and bustle of the traffic and business that goes on in the world outside. This is the ideal location for a self-sufficient community that will integrate smoothly into the surrounding area. The golf courses, the commercial and service center, the villa plots and the apartments have all been projected to blend into the landscape without compromising its natural beauty.

I can hardly wait to see the development evolve in the near future of each “district”, the lakes, the second golf course and the hotel and shops of the central precinct. With a precise, responsible architectural design and the use of natural materials, it will become a real oasis of natural beauty. That respects the land as it was when we found it”.
